The Cooperative Societies Act of 1904 marked a transformative era, empowering rural communities with access to shared resources and markets. Initiatives like milk cooperatives and Self-Help Groups (SHGs) have demonstrated the remarkable potential of collectives in driving growth and equity.

Today, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and cooperatives continue this legacy, addressing modern challenges through innovation and technology. Supported by government programs like the Formation and Promotion of 10,000 FPOs, NRLM, and the Agri-Infra Fund, and complemented by schemes like the Digital Agriculture Mission and PMFME Scheme, collectives are driving inclusive and sustainable growth.

The Best Collective Award 2024, now in its 4th edition, recognizes outstanding collectives that exemplify collaboration, innovation, and sustainable development. This initiative acknowledges those who empower their members, improve livelihoods, and contribute to a thriving and Vikasit Bharat.

About ESAF Foundation

With extensive experience in forming over 130 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and numerous other collectives, ESAF Foundation champions the transformative power of collaboration in fostering economic growth and social well-being.

Eligibility Criteria

​

1. The collective must be a legal entity registered and operational for at least 3 years as of March 31, 2025.

2. Demonstrate a significant impact in its area of operation, showcasing measurable outcomes in social, economic, or environmental aspects.

3. Open to Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), and Cooperatives.

Nomination Process

​

1. Complete the self-nomination Google form with all required details as notified.

2. Attach the following supporting documents:

   • Certificate of incorporation and membership details.

   • Audit Reports for the last three years.

   • Business plan.

   • Awards and recognitions.

   • Any other relevant documents.

3. Submit your application by 25th January 2025.
